A Motherly Present

This picture was made for a mother's Christmas present. Things have been quite busy for me this fall, but it's always worthwhile seeing the looks on the faces of those who commission me to work for them.

Two Becoming One

A wedding portrait for friends of my family. I wanted to keep it atmospheric like the source image, darkened to make the dress really stand out.

One Single Flower

This commission was a memorial to a loved one who had passed away. The daisy was their favourite flower.

A Pair of Pups

Here are a couple of canines (can you tell I love puns?), completed for a recent commission.

Jim

This is an oil painting of a film still I found really powerful from 28 Days Later by Director Danny Boyle. It is a scene where Jim, the main character, is held prisoner by a group of soldiers he thought he would be able to find safe refuge with. Unfortunately, the humans he finds are no better than the monsters he has been running from up until that point, as the fear and bewilderment is reflected in his eyes.

Self Portraits Through the Years

I have always been interested in portraiture and using one's self for a subject is highly practical, challenging and rewarding. These are some work from a while ago. I am still trying to decide on where to go next with a new self portrait.

Apologies for the glare. Graphite on Stonehenge. 2007.

Just a little 8"x10" sketch. Acrylic on Canvas Board. 2010.

PixelaIted Self Portrait Collage on Streetlight Bulb. 2011.

View from table top. The base is wired down to suspend the majority of the bulb in the air.

Assorted Misfits

Here are some pieces that I wanted to include that did not fit some of the other categories.

 Apparition. Graphite on Stonehenge. 2010.

In Memoriam. Acrylic on Canvas. 48"tall x 72" wide. 2011.

Owl Sketch for my friend Jazzy. Acrylic glaze and Felt Tip Pen on Gesso Board. 3"x4". 2010.

The original sketch of the tattoo I have on my right forearm. 2010.

Litter Drawings

A collection of drawings I made from research around wooded areas in Guelph.

The drawings are in Graphite and Oil based Pencil Crayon on Senefelder paper. 2011.
